The Africa Prize 2024

The Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation awards commercialisation support to ambitious African innovators developing scalable engineering solutions to local challenges. These innovations show the importance of engineering in improving quality of life and economic development. 

This Interactive Showcase spotlights each member of the shortlist pitching at the Africa Prize final 2024, to become our tenth winner and be awarded £50,000. Three finalists will be awarded £15,000 each, and the audience will select a One-to-Watch winner of £5,000 for the most impactful shortlist pitch.

About the Africa Prize

The Africa Prize is Africa’s biggest prize dedicated to engineering innovation. It was launched in 2014 by the Royal Academy of Engineering to stimulate, celebrate and reward innovation and entrepreneurship across sub-Saharan Africa.

The 2024 Shortlist

The innovations shortlisted in 2024 tackle challenges central to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, including clean water and sanitation, sustainable cities and communities, clean energy, good health and wellbeing, and quality education.
