The Africa Prize

Alumni programme

The Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation launched its formal alumni programme in 2020 with support from the UK Government’s Global Challenges Research Fund. After each cycle, the shortlist is welcomed into the alumni community, a supportive network of fellow entrepreneurs, all linked through the programme.

Our alumni community has more than 100 members, from 18 countries in sub-Saharan Africa and 15 engineering disciplines.

We provide a space for opportunities to be shared and connections to be made with other sustainable development programmes. This includes Frontiers, GCRF Africa Catalyst, Higher Education Partnerships in sub-Saharan Africa and Leaders in Innovation Fellowships as well as UK-based entrepreneurs engaged with the Academy’s Enterprise Hub.

The Africa Prize interactive map allows for easy searching by either country, cohort, SDG or alumni status.
